One Mile One Hero One Country

Raising Funds and Awareness One Mile at a Time

We want to say THANK YOU to our men and women in uniform

And to the families who support them

Austin, Texas (May 3, 2010) Inspired by the tremendous sacrifice of military men and women whose lives have been lost in Iraq and Afghanistan, an Austin-based 501 (c) 3 organization, OPERATION HONOR OUR HEORES, was formed to assist wounded warriors and veterans and their families. For Every Fallen Hero there are 10 wounded Heroes.

To accomplish the organization’s mission, a team of runners will embark on a cross country run called the Lone Star Trail of Heroes: Run Across Texas which will begin in Amarillo on May 16 at the Panhandle War Memorial and will cover 500 miles before finishing in Austin on May 31.

The 500 flags posted in honor of the fallen on the Lone Star Trail will then be posted at the OPERATION HONOR OUR HEROES 5/10K & FAMILY MILE which will be held June 12, 2010 at the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park located at 3005 CR 175, Leander, Texas 78641. There will be a short ceremony before the run and activities for the whole family as well as food and drinks after the Run. It is our hope that this first annual event will also expand into a community-wide celebration of our military families and those who serve us with honor and courage.

We want to say THANK YOU to our men and women in uniform and to the families who support them. We are asking the community to join us as we say thanks to those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom and the freedom of others.
