My Hero. My Father. SSGT. Joe D. Wooley.

I wear a silver Hero Bracelet to honor my father.  It simply says:  “SSGT. Joe D. Wooley (10-13-04); United States Army 1953-1973.”  My father fought in the Korean War and in the Vietnam War and was gone most of my childhood years.  I will never forget that day in 1973 when my Mom, my two brothers and my sister and I picked up my Daddy from Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to finally come home and never leave again.   What a glorious day that was.  Daddy was a proud American an...

HEROBRACELETS, Thank you for your kind gift to the Gold Star Familes. The fifth year anniversary of his untimely death is soon approaching. However, we will remember him with the help of our family, friends and community. The city of Rochester Hills, MI memorialized his passing with a very special tribute.
